‘Villa HALCYON’ is a newly built property which combines perfectly the charm of exposed stone construction and the sleek lines of its contemporary interior style. INDOOR LIVING AREA: The open-plan living area incorporates kitchen, dining area and sitting room with fireplace and TV, with a separate study. This area opens on to the main pool terrace and garden which are accessed via large sliding walls of glass. The kitchen is separated from the dining area that comfortably seats ten, by an island unit that serves as a breakfast bar on one side and houses various sinks and hob on the other. Kitchen equipment includes a triple fridge freezer wine store, oven, microwave oven, steam oven and built-in coffee machine. At night, the discreet lighting is enhanced by the dramatic view through large windows of the striking teak-root system, displayed as a natural work of art. BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS As you would expect from a villa of this quality, great attention has been paid to the bedrooms and bathrooms. There are four double bedrooms in total, three on the ground floor and one master bedroom situated quite separately on the upper level, with its own bathroom, dressing room and private terrace. On the ground floor, there is a master bedroom with en suite bathroom with shower and a dressing room. The other two bedrooms have en suite bathrooms with shower. Three of the bedrooms have Super Kingsize beds 180 x 200 and one has a Kingsize bed 150 x 200 (a divan can be added to this room for separate double occupancy). One of the Superkings can be made up as a twin if required. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and equipped with luxurious bedlinen and towels, with the thoughtful addition of Kikoys for use at the pool. All bathrooms are equipped with complimentary Tea Tonique Miller Harris products and hairdryers, and water pressure is good. Two of the bedrooms are equipped with Smart TV’s. OUTDOOR LIVING Elegant and well-equipped as the indoor living areas are, it is the allure of outdoor living that is such an important and pleasurable part of a Greek island living. The owner of the property, no stranger to island life himself, has incorporated many of the features he has experienced in his years of travel in the Caribbean, Pacific and Mediterranean islands. There is a superb, shaded outdoor dining pergola with a hanging crystal chandelier by the pool, complete with outdoor kitchen and barbecue and complemented by a congenial bar seating 8 people, with three fridges and ice machine. GARDENS There is a subtle formality about the landscaped gardens, on two levels, that is perfectly in keeping with the aesthetics of the property. A long sweep of lawn is set off by an unusual water feature, beautifully illuminated at night, and at the far end of the garden a pergola with shaded sofas overlooks a stunning southerly sea view. The sound of water spouting from lions’ heads set into the surrounding walls is a soothing accompaniment to a stroll through the gardens with their flowering trees and shrubs, set off by the indigenous cypress trees. Comfortably upholstered seating and ‘chilling’ areas are scattered throughout the gardens and on the main pool terrace. SEA BATHING There is private access to the sea-front via a spectacular, curving path constructed from the pink-toned stone of the property Inspired by Byzantine methods of construction, it loops gradually down to sea level, where rock terraces provide ample space for sun- bathing, with easy access to the sea itself. A bathing ladder is a thoughtful addition. Sunloungers and parasols will be set up for guests daily. HOME ENTERTAINMENT The house, gardens, outdoor bar and pool area are all covered by WiFi. TV in two of the bedrooms and the sitting room, with Sky and an Internet TV box for UK and International channels. Sonos music system throughout the house, garden, bar and pool areas.
